We promised Mingo? [RUMOR]

First, there is no reason in poking fun at the original poster. Even if it is made up, it does not have any adverse affects. It is different than lying about, say, a signing or a trade that has supposedly been made only to find out that it has not been don.

Second, while we lack picks, this current Saints regime has never been shy about trading up, sacrificing future picks in several instances (Arrington, Morstead, Tennant, Ingram) to get the player we wanted.

Third, Sean Payton is pretty straightforward about what the team needs or a player he likes. Some people take it as a smokescreen and then he does pretty much what he said he would do. He said he liked Ingram and Jeff Duncan tried to tell us otherwise for months only for them to trade back up for him. He liked Jenkins so much so that Gregg Williams told Jenkins to run slow so that he could fall to us. It was no doubt he liked Dorsey and tried to trade up for him before settling on Ellis. He liked Beanie Wells and mentioned that we would take him; we did not but reportedly attempted to trade up for him.

Does all this mean that we will trade up for Mingo? No. But it does not mean that we won't consider it regardless of where we stand on picks. Is it possible we are targeting someone else? Sure, of course it is but that does not mean that the rumor of the Saints wanting Mingo is totally false.

Now go draft Tavon!
