Keke Mingo

Everyone has flaws. Aldon Smith didn't get a sack for almost the entire 2nd half of the season. There are few "pass rushers" that you can send out there and they get sacks (Jared Allen, Freeney a few years ago, JPP, and Ware come to mind).

The others have to be in a scheme that takes advantage of their skills, and play off the talent around them. Aldon Smith is the perfect example... he was useless without a healthy Justin Smith.

Mingo can add a dimension of SPEED and RELENTLESSNESS to the front 7, which can disrupt things for the offense and help our secondary.

I'm not advocating for us to take him... but those that think Mingo is gonna go out there and challenge Strahan's record in his rookie year... it won't happen.

I completely agree with what your saying. He can totally add a dimension of speed and relentlessness.......but that's all he can give you. At some point you have to know how to use that speed and relentlessness to become an asset to your team , and he he hasn't shown that he has the ability to put it all together. I want a guy that you can at least depend on to give you average production. Maybe not a world beater , but you know he's gonna go give you something every game.
When Mingo can use his speed and relentlessness to do something more than be the 3rd or 4th guy to get in on the tackle and give me a sack every once in a while then i'll consider him a first rounder......maybe. But not right now. This dude is radioactive. A guy with all the potential in the world that never once showed it in college , or that really has no transferable pluses about him moving up from the college ranks is not someone you should take in the 1st.
