Gunner Kiel must be kicking himself sick right now. On top of having to sit out a year, he now has to live with the fact that the job he wanted handed to him just may have been handed to him if he wasn't so impatient.
Certainly a missed opportunity for Kiel, but of all the QB recruits Kelly has now brought in, Malik Zaire is probably the one that truly fits his "system" the best. I don't think he'll be ready to start this year, but I don't think Kiel was a sure-thing long term -- when it comes to starting QBs at least.
