Actually, I heard that guy on the radio specifically saying that Vitter should resign because he "admitted" to a crime (which he has not), and Jefferson was different because has not been convicted of a crime.

In other words, a Democrat charged with murder found at scene of crime with weapon, and evidence of motive and 3 witnesses is ok as long as he claims he is innocent, but Republican who admits to illegal parkign should resign because he is an admitted criminal.
