N/S PTO rules that "Redskins" is derogatory (not a case about the NFL team but likely precedent)

Why all of a sudden now they want to go after the owner/NFL , whoever..after all these years? Just sayin...

What do you mean all of a sudden? The movement to eliminate Native American mascots has been an agenda item for the largest and most moderate American Indian organization since its inception in the 1940's. There wasn't a legal pathway to challenge the name Redskins as an offensive term until the Civil Rights Act was passed. Notice there has not been a new mascot or team name/emblem adopted since that law was enacted. The narrative that the majority of Indians aren't offended, and they are just now starting to complain about it is just not correct.
