Saints need to show some balance

Drew Brees put together the most prolific individual passing display in New Orleans Saints history when he racked up a whopping 510 yards through the air in Sunday's game with the Cincinnati Bengals. It was also the standout quarterback's fourth consecutive outing of over 300 yards.

Impressed, you say? Well, the Saints can't be too blown away by those gaudy numbers, considering the team has won only one of those four contests.

In actuality, the most important number regarding New Orleans' disheartening 31-16 defeat to the Bengals was three. As in the three interceptions Brees threw that had a profound impact on the outcome. Or the three touchdowns the Saints' defense allowed to Cincinnati's mouthy wide receiver Chad Johnson, who torched the team's secondary for 190 yards on just six catches.
