Colts DT Issues: Simon Cut, "Booger" Out for Year??

Since when has making FA moves lead to success? Yes I know it looks good in the offseason. What makes you think players did not want to play for the Colts? Maybe the Colts do not want to do much in FA, as usual.

Simon was a FA and he was a bust. The Colts do not do much in FA any year but build in the draft. Our biggest FA pickup was a kicker.

Oh and David hardly picks anyone and now he will be playing man coverage against either Marvin or Reggie.

The Colts could have kept some of their defensive players this year if they wanted too, but they did not have to.

True, FA moves don't necessarily translate to success to the new team, as the Redskins can attest. However, to the team that loses those players, and the Colts lost at least 3, it could be devastating.

As far as players not wanting to play for the Colts, that comment is absurd--I agree. But you must admit, Peyton had to restructure his contract in order to retain Freeney and ultimately allow a long term deal to get done. They lost Stokely as well.

Facts are facts, the Colt team entering the 2007 campaign is not the one that won Lombardi in February. They have heavily invested in a core group of star players at the expense of depth and loss of key free agents. It's not uncommon in this era of the NFL and I'm sure it was well worth it. The Saints will probably be in the same boat in a couple of years.

No one is cheering the loss of Booger, he's an LSU guy. All anyone here is saying is that his loss further adds to the losses in FA.
