Marcus Ball: Makes the final 53 or not?

I just don't see how you keep 6 safeties without sacrificing depth in your front 7. Six corners I could see, but not 6 Safeties. We need to keep our front 7 stacked!

When it's game time injuries happen in the trenches. If that battle is lost then running backs will get to the second level which exposes Lofton & Hawthorne's lack of of side to side range (which is why I hope Fortt makes the cut). Bottom line, our uglies up front and our LB'ers are the most underrated component of our success. We will not win if they fail.

Now imagine an injury to Junior or Jordan and you are facing Aaron Rodgers, Manning or Brady. Your pass rush will live and die by that position's depth and an NFL Offensive Coordinator would just chip or double the #1 guy and take his chances with his starter against your #2 on the other side. Do you want to play one of those Quarterbacks and give them a 2nd level running game or all the time in the world to throw the ball?

When the bright lights really come on we will see who is more than just a "Camp Body." We have great depth in the Defensive backfield, but we need to find a way to stash some on the PS. I like the lineup of Byrd, Vacarro, Bush and Ball. All three are good hitters and versatile enough to line up in several spots on the field. I can see Sunseri taking the 5th spot because of his Brain and his ST play. If your 5th guy is seeing big time snaps he better be a very smart player because he obviously isn't a player with supreme physical gifts or else he would be starting.
