Payton calls Saints back early

He wants to make sure team is ready for the Ravens

METARIE, La. - Monday practices normally don't exist for the New Orleans Saints. There's usually a trip to the workout room for the players followed by some post-mortem film sessions after game day.

With the team coming off a bye week, Saints coach Sean Payton put his 5-1 team back to work a day earlier than normal. The rest for the NFC South leaders has been well deserved, but Payton wanted to sneak in an extra practice to get back to the business of winning games.

Beginning the week with a lackadaisical attitude wouldn't be the greatest way to maintain the Saints' consistency. Especially considering the Saints are game planning for the AFC-playoff-contending Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in the Louisiana Superdome.
