Owners applaud Saints but question viability

Commissioner Roger Goodell kicked off the NFL's fall owners meeting Tuesday with a highlight video from the Saints' historic return to the Superdome last month against the Atlanta Falcons.
Interspersed among the footage of Steve Gleason's blocked punt and Coach Sean Payton's postgame speech were emotion-charged cutaways of black-and-gold-clad fans, who at this time a year ago were unsure if they'd ever see their beloved Saints play a game again in their beloved stadium, much less turn the league on its ear with a 5-1 start.
Goodell said the 2 1/2 -minute highlight show was a tribute to the Saints organization, local officials and the club's faithful followers for the collaborative effort to resuscitate pro football in the storm-ravaged city.
