I think chromecast will do what you are looking for (stream the contents of a browser to the TV wirelessly). Apple can do something similar with Apple TV and either a Mac or iPad.

Apple TV works with any computer. My son has no other Apple products except for two Apple TV units and he uses them instead of cable.
