The Vick Gesture (MERGED AGAIN x4)

They've brought in a whole bunch of different receivers over the course of his time in Atlanta, and they always get the blame. I couldn't tell you whether its their fault or his fault because I don't break down the film, but I suspect a lot of things that get called drops are passes that aren't exactly on-target. They're underthrown, overthrown, high or low or too hard. I would imagine that this kind of wildness makes it hard for receivers to adjust the way they can when an accurate, decisive passer is throwing the ball. You know what to expect from someone like Brady or P. Manning or Brees and can adjust accordingly.

Anyway, the figures don't lie. His passer rating is pathetic, and he no longer has the fig leaf of, "yeah, but when he plays, his team wins." Wasn't that way last year and it isn't that way this year. As a matter of fact, the teams he faced last year had an aggregate record of just about .500. That's just about where Atlanta's record was, which means his record as a starter last year against the teams on his schedule was just about the same as every other quarterback who played those teams.
