Captain Rick Jacobs, a frequent speaker at the WWII Museum and retired navy officer, will speak on the Battle of the Coral Sea, the first naval battle in history where the opposing ships never saw each other because the engagement was conducted by carrier-based aircraft. The World War II Discussion Group, headed by local teacher and historian Brian Altobello, meets the first Thursday of every month to discuss the events of the 1930s and 1940s.
