Apparently Kreutz was an active Volcano and Brees touched him on the shoulder in the locker room to talk to him and Kreutz wheeeld around to take a swing at him, saw it was Brees, and managed to restrain himself at the last second.

I heard that as well yesterday afternoon. Le Batard said that he was worse in Chicago and was a borderline psycho.

Kreutz was getting into with another teammate and when someone tried to break it up, Kreutz spun around to throw a haymaker at whoever it was grabbing his shoulder and when he saw that it was Brees he caught himself before throwing a punch.

He was cut in the middle of the season abruptly. I would not be surprised if this incident was the final straw.
