Because there is alot of historical football value in the Redskins name, and quite frankly, many of those protesting it probably weren't alive when that name was first given to the team.

This fan showed up to support a team he loved and got punked, unnecessarily, by a player who has yet to even establish himself in the NFL yet.

Personally I commend Dan Snyder for telling those overly-sensitive types to get bent. It's a crying shame that people can't just go about their everyday lives without being "offended" by something that's clearly not intended to be offensive. And "intent" to me is what you have to look at.
