Saints making strongest push for Anquan Boldin???

I would love this signing for a few reasons:

• If signed he would come at a very reasonable price.
  
  
• He is a proven veteran leader which is great for a locker room.
  
  
• We also have a very young WR group. We need someone to balance that out some what. Chemistry is a very important aspect of a team/unit. Our young WRs could greatly benefit from being around someone that has, and continues to be, successful on and off the field.
  
  
• Although he is older, his body has not shown the wear that many other WRs show at his age.
  
  
• He has really reliable hands and route running.
  
  
• The biggest aspect that I would love to see Boldin bring to the team is his ability to separate. We have been terrible at creating separation at WR. Many mistake speed with separation, but speed is only one component to a player getting open. Guys like Boldin consistently get open.

People always seem to want to lump WRs into two categories; Speed Guys and Possession Guys. I think speed or possession is predicated on the ability to get separation and thus be open. Recent years, but last year particularly, we were horrible at getting separation.

A guy like Boldin really would round out our WR corps. He hits on so many boxes for us. Veteran player, great locker room presence, healthy and productive career, leader and humanitarian, and most importantly he is a reliable WR that knows how to get separation.
