Redjem, Dan in Lafayette!
Don't worry about boredom today. Someone will likely start a thread on the downfall of the fossil, Drew Brees
I do have a serious question for those of you who have actually been at the camp. How is Brees ability to throw a tight spiral 50-yarder?
We know last year about the shoulder injury which hurt his ability. Then when he recovered, he looked like he was throwing the bomb again quite well. Then in the last 4-5 games he seemed to lose some of that ability. As we found-out in the off-season, Brees had plantar fasciitis in the right foot the last half of the season. Those of us who have experienced the joy of plantar fasciitis know the fun/Sarcasm off. Knowing this now, it's amazing how well he threw the ball at all. In fact, if you rewatch some of the last games of the season, you can actually see him tip toe on the right foot after pushing off for a long throw.
For those who have yet to experience Plantar, it is in no way a career threatening injury. The surgery is simply to cut the tendon. I tore mine and had immediate relief. In fact, talking to a Doctor about Brees yesterday, he said that some Doctors are using high volumes of cortisone injections. 1) It helps reduce the pain 2) the injections over time cause the tendon to get brittle and tear on its own.
Thanks!
