We will need Ingram at some point, but hopefully in a reserve role. He has cost us two games in ball security and almost cost us today. Hightower has been the better runner and has earned more of the reps at this point.
I like Ingram and have tried to support him like I would any of our players that I think it part of the big picture of our success. But you can't deny that Ingram looks different this year. He lacks the burst and the violence that I thought made him successful in the past.
Unquestionably, we're no worse with Ingram in a secondary role and it would be hard to argue against moving Hightower to #1. If it causes Ingram to get mad and get that spark back, great. But right now the only thing that matters is what helps us win now. There will be plenty of time to figure the rest out later.
