Ingram benched [OLD THREAD BUMPED]

3.9 yards per carry on the season for Ingram.

3.9 yards per carry today for Hightower today.

But trade that bum Ingram amirite?

Hightower had 102 yards rushing against one of the better D's in the NFL. But the most critical - Hightower had zero fumbles on 26 carries. For the second week in a row Ingram had a crucial fumble (this one was returned for TD). I like Mark Ingram, he seems to be a good guy, works hard, doesn't complain, but honestly he just doesn't fit in Payton's Offense.

Ingram now has the reputation as a fumbler. Opposing players will now go for the ball rather than the sure tackle. This should make it easier to break arm tackles but for Ingram (a player without elite speed or power) it's a serious problem. I don't see how he will overcome it here. It might be best for both parties (Ingram, the Saints) to go in different directions this next offseason.
