Ingram benched [OLD THREAD BUMPED]

Y'all overreact much? For all the Hightower love, he's never averaged over 4 yards a carry. He looks like he is, but numbers don't lie. As far as Ingram I don't remember all his fumbles but the ones I do remember are exactly like this last one. He's still trying to push the pile when he gets stood up, and continues to try to drive as the defense is trying to strip the ball. In that situation the defense will eventually get it out. Ingram needs to learn when he's in that situation to go down. Get what you can get and go down.

There is the irony in this thread regarding Ingram's passion and effort. His recent fumble problems are a direct result of his effort and unwillingness to go down. He is simply not, by any metric, a fumble prone back. I would guess he was benched not because of this fumble, but because he made the same mistake in consecutive weeks. As soon as we need to return to a pass oriented offensive game plan, Ingram will return, and heads will explode. Like it or not, he is the team's most talented, versatile back. The most impressive thing to me, however, was the great execution the offense displayed playing a different style of football. This should warm the hearts of all here who seem fixated on the Saints playing 1960s SEC style offense.
