Cutting the cable, lets talk options and media setups
Honestly for the $200+ you were spending you can subscribe to just about everything you'd want to stream except the sports or getting stuff day it comes out. If you're willing to spend less than 1/4 of that you could have Hulu, Netflix and HBO Now (plus you already have Prime video) to cover most of the major stuff. You could probably squeeze in Sling with extra sports channels if you want to keep spending some. The biggest change is moving from new stuff once a week to binge when you want. Some of the exclusive self-produced shows are getting better than what I remember seeing on broadcast and cable.
When I cut the cable I also switched from big screen hanging on the wall to watching on laptop and 27" monitor on desktop, so I've never messed with the sticks and "tv" devices.
Plus you can wander into the specialty entertainment stuff like Twitch, Crackle, Funimation, etc.
