Cutting the cable, lets talk options and media setups
if you get an Android box, make sure it is not Rooted (if you want Vue). You cannot install PS Vue on a rooted device. I bought an Android box recently from Amazon. great device, but I could not install Vue. it gives an error saying "cannot install Vue on rooted device for security reasons".
I tried unrooting, root cloaking, all of it, to no avail. luckily, I have a Roku tv and can use it for Vue. I had a firestick, but wanted a hardwired box, but the fire tv box is too expensive. the Android box I have works great, and it was only $38.
just something to consider if you go that route.
now, Directv Now installs on there no problem. which, I signed up for the free trial of Directv Now. which ever is better out if directv now or Vue, I will keep..
Edit: I bought the ABox off Amazon, it has Android 6.0.
