There is only one show in all of TV that I actually want to see as it happens, and that is Game of Thrones. Which you can either pay 15 a month for 3 months for, or buy the episodes as they come out.. or wait for the DVD collection.

you can also get hbo for $5 a month if you also subscribe to directv now. only problem is DTN isn't really that great
