Cutting the cable, lets talk options and media setups

I cut the cord last month and we went with PS Vue, Netflix, HD Antenna, and Firestick with Amazon Prime.

We use PS Vue mostly on the Firestick. It's good and has everything you need. At first we seemed to get a few interruptions, but it hasn't been happening for the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure what changed. But other than that problem initially, it's been good. It has everything you need and want.

It's a little more cumbersome to use than Direct TV (which we had before) on the Firestick. That's mostly because you have to do everything with the Firestick control. What I mean is that it takes more time to bring up the guide or change channels for instance. So that can be a little annoying if you're used to a cable or satellite control. But once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad.

We got the most expensive package because I wanted HBO too. It's still almost $70 less than what I was paying with Direct TV. So I'm happy so far. We've talked about buying the Fire TV, because it has better memory and a better processor. It would be much better for streaming PS Vue I have to think.

That is the biggest issue for cutting the cord at this point for me and my family anyways. Having to jump from one device or app to another to browse what you may want to watch....Especially for the Wife.

Also, usually when I call Dish and threaten to cut the cord, they offer me enough discounts to keep me.
