Malcolm Butler should still be on Saints' radar (IMO)

I think their plan is to go all in on the next two seasons and try to win another 1 maybe two. Then I think they make a decision on the Brady-Garoppolo situation. I also think that was the idea with the Cooks move. After this two year window they'll know what they have in him and either move on or keep him as a weapon fro Garappolo.

I also don't see us signing Bulter in the off-season. He will be a year more into his prime and the 5 year deal we agreed on this off-season made since as he would only be 32 at the end of the contract.

Now he'd be 32 in the last two years of his contract and probably end up costing us a lot of dead money.

The pats really screwed this guy out of a lot of money. He single-handedly wins you a super bowl and you not only don't pay him, but bring his replacement in house and hand him a stack of money and also deny Butler the opportunity to make his big pay-day elsewhere.

I'd be beside myself if I were him.

'Single handedly' is a bit much. Do I want Butler to stay a Pat? Absolutely. But no front office in their right mind shells out cash based on loyalty or emotion, even as much as fans like me would want them to. He was offered a contract, refused it, and now has terminated his previous agent. I'm not big on the amount of money we gave Gilmore but if you've offered a corner what you think his market value is and he has refused it, you have to make sure you have back up plans.
