Classic TV Shows and Movies You Hate
Heat -
Everyone raves about the Pacino-Dinero tete a tete finally happening, but I thought it was extremely underwhelming. Felt like they both kinda mailed it in.
Tombstone -
Val Kilmer was awesome, but the rest of the movie doesn't deserve the praise, I don't think. Kurt Russel, who I like in a lot of other stuff, never rang true in this.
The Godfather Series -
I think this is a function of when I saw it. I think a big part of its allure was the depiction of the crime family, which had never really been shown in this manner before The Godfather. But I didn't see The Godfather until well after Goodfellas, and after mafia media projects in general had become commonplace. So that initial behind the curtain appeal of the movie wasn't there for me, and I just saw a plodding drama.
The Matrix -
Whatever. Go head, Neo. I don't care.
The Jeffersons, Goodtimes, Mama's Family, Golden Girls -
Something about these makes me feel gross and dirty while watching them. Just something about the way they look and are physically presented (lighting, etc). Strangely, Sanford and Son is one of my all time favorites and I don't get this vibe from it, even though other people have told me they do.
Brady Bunch -
Can't watch it. Never liked it.
Titanic -
Don't care.
The Departed -
Couple of problems here. First is, hey, let's just kill everybody. That'll make a movie hardcore. Second, I can't buy DiCaprio in these kinds of roles for some reason. I still see him acting all potato in Gilbert Grape or as a kid. He just strikes me as a wuss.
