Brees Article...from foxsports

The notion that the Saints could repair New Orleans never had much merit. Hurricane Katrina killed more than 1,800 people, caused nearly $100 billion in property damage, and flooded more than 80 percent of the city.

The storm damaged New Orleans in ways no mere football team could change, and to suggest otherwise trivializes the plight of those who were left jobless, homeless and hopeless.

But the Saints are winning, and they're filling their stadium with ecstatic football fans a year after it was filled with devastated refugees. If eight home games lasting three hours apiece put 24 hours of joy into the lives of 60,000 people in the Superdome, that's one full day of happiness in a city that has known mostly sorrow since the levees broke. And no person is more responsible for that than Drew Brees, the quarterback who might be the league's most valuable player and is certainly its most important.
