I think he just doesn't want to see the inevitable outrage that always follows when people build unrealistic expectations for a person or product, only to see them or it fail to meet those expectations. He probably thinks people who like to build up hype with hyperbole have a tendency to be the same ones who join the original fevered naysayers in an epic teardown of the pedestal they just built. Or maybe that's not at all what he thinks, and is just what I think.
Dramatic people like to be, well, dramatic...yanno?
