Roseanne: The Revival (controversy erupts over tweet by Roseanne, ABC cancels show)

I never understood the appeal of shows like Roseanne that are supposed to be so ‘real’.. i remember way back when it first aired, it was celebrated because , oh theyre living paycheck to paycheck and they are fat slobs like most Americans.. why would anyone want to watch that? I mean, i get wanting to see things that are realistic that you would never get to experience, like a movie about Seal Team Six killing Bin Laden or something— it’s real but it’s stuff i dont see in my daily life.. but if you are a ‘typical American’, why would you want to watch something that is a reflection of your daily struggles? In general, i watch movies and tv shows for escapism, but that’s just me.

Just my opinion, it's funnier. Full House isn't realistic, nor any of those shows from the 80s when the networks went the opposite from the All in the Family/Jeffersons/Sanford and Son type of shows from the 70s.
I mean, some of those 80s shows are funny, but it's really predictable.
