N/S Brandin Cooks traded to Rams

The Rams are going all in on this year with cap implosion coming next year. Cooks is still on his rookie deal and will want to get paid. Same with Peters, Donald, Gurley, and soon Goff. Suh is only on a one year deal. The conspiracy theorist in me is thinking the NFL wants the LA market revived and a Superbowl / playoff run to get the ratings and fan base charged. Also they resigned Tavon Austin at a cheaper number, Cooks is a better version of the small quick deep threat that Austin was supposed to be. The Rams 2018 cap is a mirage, brilliant for their GM, but giving up a first rounder that would help later cap problems especially after they already did the same thing on a one year rental of Watkins for a second rounder and now have nothing to show for it does not lead to long term sustainability. Your depth will suffer without draft picks. Ask the Bounty Gate Saints.

I think your wrong. They traded off some higher paid players and replaced them with cheaper options that are just as good or better. Peters is making a lot less than the 16 a year T Johnson was making and is still under contract for two more years. They traded Ogletree and Quinn's large long term salary for a one year rental of Suh. They still have 3 years of Goff on a rookie contract which is peanuts for an NFL team. RB's are a very devalued position outside of L Bell, not one other rb in the NFL is over 10 a year. They will have to pay Donald some cheddar but they still good for a quite few years after that.....
