Reamon Jr.'s diligence, tireless networking leads to job with Saints

Sitting at a long table early this month in a room filled with about 15
New Orleans Saints player personnel executives, the moment of truth had arrived for Tommy Reamon Jr.
He had reached one of the final phases of the interview process for a position as a pro scouting assistant with the Saints. Now, with Saints general manager
Mickey Loomis and assistant GM
Jeff Ireland staring intently at Reamon Jr., he was asked to provide an evaluation of a defensive end who had captured the Saints’ attention.
Calling upon all he’d learned in his long road to that opportunity, Reamon Jr. nailed it.
“At the end of my evaluation, I just noted he reminded me of Tremaine Edmunds, who was a first-round pick,” said Reamon Jr., who knew a thing or two about Edmunds after coming to the interview fresh off spending a season as a volunteer assistant at Edmunds’ alma mater,
Virginia Tech. “This (player the Saints were evaluating) is a junior now, but they were high on him. So, when I said that about Edmunds in comparison to this player, everybody threw their arms up and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got to go get this guy.’ They put a level of respect on my evaluation skills.”
