I had labrum surgery at 40 years old. My labrum was completely shredded. The doctor said there was no use in repairing it, and that they would perform a biceps tenodesis on me. This is where they use your biceps as a shoulder anchor instead of the labrum cartilage.

After this surgery he would never have another labrum injury, because the biceps takes it's place. It is about a 6-9 month healing process. With a young athelete like him, probably 3 months.
