Battlestar Galactica Discussions (MERGED)
smoker: (military slang) a boxing match in a unit which allows troops to settle grudges regardless of rank or position.
On Galactica, it's called "The Dance."
I'm going to call this latest episode the "Chick Flick Episode."
From beginning to end, the whole show bounces from the boxing ring to flashbacks of the characters' love lives.
These people don't have love triangles...they have love octagons.
At ringside, Adama and Roslyn flashback to a cozy evening on New Caprica.
In the ring, acting as referee, COL Tigh has flashbacks to that same evening with his now-dead wife whom he had to poison for being a traitor.
Apollo...Jayden this is your chance to check him out in a boxing ring without the fat suit...er...remembers the same evening Adama and Rosyln and Tigh remember. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.
Starbuck...uh...yes, she has flashbacks too. Lots of flashbacks. Lots and lots of flashbacks. What a basket case! In case you've forgotten, Starbuck was the trainer (and lover) of Adama's other son, who was killed in a training accident.
Like I said, a totally chick flick episode.
We didn't post anything about the previous episode. The only thing that immediately comes to mind was Lucy Lawless rolling out of the bed she'd been sharing with Baltar and #6. Lucky Baltar. :)
Oh, Lucy's character also began exploring the time between getting killed and getting downloaded. She even had a centurian shoot her so she could experience it again. There was a white-robed figure in the "between" world.
So, while Brother Cavill (Evil Al, Dean Stockwell) kept complaining that he had worse and worse headaches each time he revived, D'anna Biers (Lucy Lawless) is thinking she's getting closer and closer to "god" each time.
Oh, I found this Lucy Lawless "D'anna Biers" fan site. Enjoy:
