3 Saints players who should be put on ice until kickoff

The New Orleans Saints have built a very good roster for the 2018 season. Training camp practices have been intense contests between the offense and defense, with multiple players standing out in big ways. These few players are so good, in fact, that they should be rested and put on ice, sealed in bubble wrap and kept safe from potential injury until the season-opening kickoff against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I’m only partly joking.
Michael Thomas
The Saints’ Pro Bowl wide receiver has had an outstanding training camp, regularly making cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore (a Pro Bowler himself) and Ken Crawley (a good defender against everyone but Chris Godwin) look like chumps. Just look at Thomas’s session-ending touchdown grab against Lattimore in tight coverage from today’s practice:
Alex Anzalone
There was some concern that Anzalone wouldn’t be up to speed after exiting early last season with a shoulder injury, but the young linebacker has pretty much just been flexing on everybody throughout training camp. ...
