After Week 2, is the Saints pass defense a concern? - Film Study + Podcast (2 for 1!)

I view the TD play differently. Williams failed to shade to the correct side. When the play snapped, he drifted 10 yards to his right to provide help to Lattimore. When he realized there were two deep routes to his left, it was too late. He should have recognized the strong side and stayed at home in the middle until the routes revealed themselves, most importantly because the strong side had the Browns' 2 best and fastest receivers. If he had, he would have had time to meet the deep route in the end zone. Maybe it was a bad play call. Maybe it was a bad read on his part. Either way, the safety was a non-factor on that play and that can't happen.

They are playing Tampa 2. He was simply doing his job/his assignment.
