Getting Taysom Hill involved on offense.

I have been wondering about ways that the Saints may be able to get Hill involved on the offense because of his superb speed and athleticism. To this point, no one really knows if he could be a viable pass-catcher, but there may another way...

The jet sweep.

Line Hill up in the slot or out wide and bring him in motion across the formation. The Saints could then hand it off to the RB after faking the jet sweep, hand it off to Hill on the jet sweep, or have Hill stay behind the LOS and throw the ball.

All 3 options have the potential for success.

Teams will honor Hill’s speed on the fake sweep, which could put a LB or S out of position for the RB run in the opposite direction.

If they do not, hand the ball to Hill and if he gets the edge, it’s trouble for the defense.

If the defense gets overly aggressive, Hill can throw the ball better than any RB or WR in the game on the option pass.

Hill can help without even touching the ball. Someone that big with that speed and acceleration has to get in the defense's heads.
