Why is it everyone is treating the missed field goal like we would of lost

I think the issue the OP raises has more to do with people seeing that we won because the XP was missed and using faulty logic to conclude that had the XP been made, we would have lost - when in reality, had the XP been made, the outcome of the game was uncertain at best.

Now - could we have stopped the Raven's offense if we lost the loss? Maybe. Maybe not. Definitely no guarantees here.
