PJ Williams named NFC defensive player of the week.

PJ Williams? When did you start posting here? :D

Of course I watched the game (most all of us did). 2 PI, 9 targets in coverage, 8 completions for 114 yards and 2 tds. If anyone else had won the award we would be questioning the validity of the award as well.

Congrats to him, maybe this is the thing that sends him on his way to greatness.

So wait - before it was the voters who simply just looked at the stat sheet and that won him the award:

Once again, this is more an indictment against the voters who probably just looked at the stat sheet, and not the actual play of the player.

But wait.. aren't those... stats...? Thielen and Diggs were going to get their yards going in and we knew that. They get their yards every single game regardless of who they are playing.

PJ made two big time plays and without them we don't win the game, period. That was good enough to win him the honors. If you think that the catches he gave up makes him undeserving, that's fine. But you do indeed have it backwards. His big time plays that lead directly to 14 points won him the award. Not a stat sheet.
