The 1979 Rams defense was amazing. They were a 9-7 team cause their offense was horrible on the other side of the ball.

They were the first team ever to use a dime formation. They did it against Dallas and completely confused them in that playoff game.

I think many people into NFL history often have a soft spot for that team. They went back and forth with Pittsburgh in that SB and had a slim lead going into the 4th quarter. They picked Bradshaw off 3 times and almost have a 4th INT that would've been a walk off pick six. They ran out of gas in the end after the bomb to Lynn Swann that greatly swung all the momentum in Pittsburgh favor. QB Ferragamo also collapsed under pressure with the game on the line in the 4th.
