Nate Burleson???????
Is there even a good reason to tune into GMFB? Burelson is on there and everyone knows his stance. That show is worthless it's a joke. Yeah Kay Adams supports us but really that like a sliver of gold in a pile of crap. I guess for anyone that likes torture and needs to find a way to keep getting upset I guess it is worth it. I wear Saints gear or at least a hat every time I go out and this week I am not because I don't want to hear how we have been robbed. It's common sense don't subject yourself so if anyone is going to watch it then they have only their self to blame knowing there is a good chance there is something that is going to piss them off.
Good Morning Football is NFL Network's attempt to use millenial, non-traditional football hosts to broaden their audience. Like other networks, they use plenty of ex NFL stars on many of their programs........but this one is just different, even with having ex NFLer Nate Burleson on there. The way the GMFB hosts dress and communicate ........with their coffee in front of them and their Surface Pros .......is basically like something you'd see in your local coffee shop. They're not really an X's and O's kinda show..........because that appeals to someone who is already a major fan of the game...........but just a whole lot of basic, young-adult style conversation about the game (like, you could just FEEL around that 3rd quarter that, like....there was starting to be this shift, like....)
Kay Adams is there in a "hey, it's cool for you ladies to like and discuss football TOO" attractive female role. Obviously there are other sports shows that are going for that as well.....but more often than not those females are just sitting there blinking and looking pretty while the ex athletes or talking heads rattle on.....whereas Kay seems more actively ingrained in the show.
Nate Burleson was probably a dream come true for them.........because he dresses, talks and acts like a skinny-jeans millenial.........but also spent a decade in the NFL. He's the component that keeps a more typical NFL fan from just saying "ok, why should I really care what any of these latte-sippers think?" because he can at least speak from on-field NFL experience.
Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt (who I didnt know until recently actually played college football for Princeton) also fit what they're looking for.........guys who don't pretend to be experts of the game, but they are well-spoken and have been around the game in other capacities long enough to at least offer some basic levels of insight.
