Nate Burleson???????

I agree on the accountability. My question is, who? Is it on the two refs that didn't make the call? Or is it on the head of the crew that didn't get them all together and get the call correct? Were they given instructions to "let them play"? If so, whoever gave that instruction needs to go. Maybe it is all of them. I don't want a sacrificial lamb. If I were making the call, I would fire anyone that gave an instruction to "let them play." If that instruction was not given, I would at least suspend, but probably fire, the head of the crew for not calling a huddle on that one. I would also suspend the two refs that didn't make the call.

All good questions which should be answered with an investigation. Hopefully that is what is happening. My cynicism tells me they are going to attempt to place blame on "the system" thereby getting everyone off the hook. To me, it starts bottom up. Begins with the two officials on the spot, then the referee, then Riveron, the head of officials. Riveron was on the phone right after the game with SP telling him they blew it. If indeed, they were told to "let them play" and this was communicated literally, then Riveron and the Referee takes the fall. However, if these two officials just "froze" and were simply afraid to make a call that impacted the game, hence they made the conscious decision on their own, then they should be fired and never allowed to officiate another NFL game ever. If no one is held accountable, then they just give us this nonsense about the system, and then address it with some BS offseason rule change like using IR to review PI calls inside 2 minutes, then I'm pretty much done with the NFL.
