Payton and Belichick are looking like geniuses for getting rid of Brandin Cooks

Cooks needs to learn to play more physical in clutch moments. He tends to do the opposite, instead. That is what separats a solid #2 from a legit #1.Don't give me the "size" excuse. Steve Smith Sr was known for exactly this. The guy ws clutch in big moments for a long time. He played much bigger than his physical size.

There was a Pats game last year...………..can't even remember which one...………..where Brady threw a 50/50 deep ball for Cooks, and rather than make any attempt at an adjustment...…...he just kept running his route, and the ball landed wherever it landed. I remember thinking right then: "he isn't gonna last long with the Patriots". Obviously the guy can get behind a defense.....but it seems like he expects the ball to land in a certain spot.....and if it doesn't, it simply doesn't get caught.

I don't really remember noticing that with the Saints...…...but I do remember others pointing out similar things. I guess I just mentally blew it off at the time because I was giving him the benefit of the doubt and he was such a great deep threat.

Troy Aikman now always points out every time he does a Rams game how surprised he is that Cooks got traded away from 2 teams. Maybe eventually he'll see that where there's smoke, there's fire.
