Man plans to live out 'golden' age at Holiday Inn instead of retirement home

we recently moved my parents into one - the first one wasn't too bad, but it became clear quickly that dad need more memory care - so we moved to another and the only difference seems to be that it's on the 2nd floor and has an elevator code they don't tell the residents
in the first one, the residents were still kinda lively
the memory care place is not hopeful
Sometimes you just do not have a choice. And yeah, I noticed that some residents were still lively, but some (if they weren't bed ridden) seemed to be just staring at the TV waiting on the inevitable. Thankfully my Mom recovered enough to return home. She was able to die in her own bed.
