Sean Payton says Kyler Murray looks ‘too good’

Kyler Murray
has left some NFL scouts worried about his long term prospects because of his height, but the former Oklahoma quarterback has a big fan in Saints head coach Sean Payton.

Watching Murray on film recently, Payton says the signal caller has a bright future.

“Well I think having seen four games now, just an early exposure, you don’t feel [his height] being a deficiency when you watch him play,” Payton told NFL Network.

“Man, he’s explosive. It’s so hard to rush him because he can flush to the right and make a play, go left, you feel poise that he plays with. His film was too good. You know ultimately his film was, I say, too good. And I like him.”

Murray eased some of the tensions that scouts felt about his size when he was measured at over 5 foot 10 and weighed at 270 pounds, but reports then swirled that he had what one NFL executive described as the worst interview he has seen from any player at a combine event.

But when it comes to on the field play, Payton was impressed.
