There looks to be another addition on the horizon in New Orleans.

On Friday, the Saints announced that they signed defensive lineman Mario Edwards to a two year contract. The deal is worth $5 million, according to a report from Pro Football Talk.

Reports say Edwards can earn $1.5 million more in incentives.

Edwards visited with the Saints organization as the league year began on a free agent trip and will become the second defensive line signing the team will make this offseason.

A former second round draft pick by Oakland four years ago, the now 25 year old Edwards started 10 games as a rookie and joined the Raiders starting rotation in his second season.

This past season, Edwards was cut by the team after the exhibition season and then signed with the New York Giants as a reserve, playing on about a quarter of their defensive snaps.
