Vieux Carre days. Moved from Thibadaux to San Diego and had to have information. Luckily we were early adopters of that weird internet thing. Some old names....Who was the dude that became the Chargers fan during Iron Era? Leland?

Who was the girl from Dallas who had her pic in her avatar and was single if I recall correctly. She use to post a lot in here.
 
I miss ThatPigSteve. I believe he was reinstated after a brief ban, but did not return on principle. Ourloss....lol!

I think there have been several of those you describe :hihi: Trying to remember exactly to whom you are referring. One was a respiratory therapist, if I recall.

Though not from Dallas, LKNH2O (IIRC) and KardiacKat fit the bill. I think both got banned for conduct unbecoming this forum :ezbill:

Joe led the pub crawl in 2007. There may be pix around. I'll look and see if I have any, but I fear they're on my old computer and therefore inaccessible. Possibly for the best :hihi:

From that event I remember lustmord, St. Anger, Andrus, BDM, JoeOKC. there were many others but time dims the recall...

I'll see your "Iron Era" days and raise you the early to mid-90s AOL special interest board for Saints fans. Obviously, Andrus was there; a fella named JazzToucan who had an ultra-case of hatred for Jim Mora and made a case every Monday for why he should be replaced; RothT (RIP), who wrote one of my favorite editorial features called "The Gripes of Roth"; a Primadox (still here I think, with the same name?); her husband (sorry dude, can't remember your handle); a fella named KenInMississippi (or something similar) who was quite knowledgeable about QBs; and a few others I can't remember without being prompted, but would probably recognize if I heard the name.

Then the Saints drafted a 4th round(?) QB named Danny Weurful, who I'm convinced was just a cajun spelling for Woeful. A nice enough fella, but just couldn't play QB at the pro level. But that didn't stop the incoming rush of Florida Gator/Weurful fanboy cult, who overtook that AOL board and made sure NO ONE said anything that even remotely questioned Weurfuls skills. Within a space of about 1 week, I noticed all my favorite posters and online friends disappearing...conspicuously absent...leaving me nothing but a bunch of adolescent Weurful worshipers who were convinced Danny was going to lead the Saints to the promised land, if only they would draft 52 other guys to play to his strengths. (far as I could tell, his biggest strength was the ability to see out of his helmet earhole after refusing to scramble and being planted in the turf yet again)

I made a comment to a familiar name, half jokingly, "where is everybody...this isn't even fun anymore". He nonchalantly replied "oh, AndrusWhitewing started a new website for Saints fans. We all went over there." I was briefly disappointed that I wasn't viewed as worthy of the migration, but he quickly offered the website address without having to ask for it, and I came over THAT DAY. Fast forward...20 years later....has it really been that long? Time sure does fly!
 
Man reading this is odd. I don't specifically remember when I joined here. I know Ditka was coach and it was called the Iron Era, and I was BassB8. I've always been more of a reader than a poster. Heck over 20 years no this sight and I don't think I have posted more than 9,000 times yes. I see people here for 5 years with more posts than me. However, when I left Louisiana I was so happy to find this site and have a good place to read Saints news other than waiting for the USA Today to come out and get a small paragraph on the Saints. Thanks for this community Andrus.
