Strange Brew
I recently rediscovered beer in my life. I, like most people from the New Orleans area, drank a lot of beer (cheap beer) in my late teens and twenties. But once I got a real job and some money I switched mostly to bourbon and some scotch because at some point I realized I didn't like the taste of beer.
I resisted the whole craft beer movement as a hipster fad. But I recently tried some and I realized it's not that I don't like the taste of beer, it's that I don't like the taste of sheetty beer. The craft beer stuff is all very interesting and tastes nothing like the crap Budweister, Rolling Rock, MGD and Natural Light that I grew up drinking.
Anyway, I welcome the different tasting and strange taste combinations. I started back on beer mostly with stouts. So many interesting flavors with chocolate nibs, coffee, bourbon barrel aging, peanutbutter, etc. Buteven the IPA's are interesting. At least to me since I kind of missed the start of that revolution.
