After OTAs, here's where LSU sprinter Cyril Grayson stands in his shot to land on Saints roster

Two weeks ago at the start of OTAs, the novelty of Cyril Grayson was still fresh.

Saints coach Sean Payton was relatively impressed with third-year wideout – repeating versions of “He runs exceptionally well” four times in a short soundbite. There was still so much of the unknown to uncover with the LSU product who strictly ran track in college and hadn’t played a competitive regular season football game at any level since 2011.

But now, with the three weeks of OTAs complete, reality is starting to set in. New Orleans returned each of its top six true wide receivers from a year ago, upgraded from Ben Watson to Jared Cook at tight end while retaining their second and third options in Josh Hill and Dan Arnold. And don’t forget about tailback Alvin Kamara, who more than doubled the number of catches from anyone on the Saints roster not named “Michael Thomas” a year ago with 81.
