Brees had a good case during the first half of the season to be MVP. NO QUESTION. But toward the end, his numbers wasn't up on par with Mahomes. Maybe not all his fault, but he didn't have some good games toward the end, statically. Mahomes continue to put up numbers throughout the season and was still winning games. Be real about this and take your homer hat and glasses off for minute.

You know what other Brees numbers weren’t up to par with Mahomes’? His turnover numbers. Brees had 6 turnovers for the YEAR. Mahomes had 5 in the Rams game alone and 14 on the year. Mahomes singlehandedly lost them that game because of his recklessness.

As for “putting up numbers and still winning at the end of the year”, they finished the season 3-3 with 2 of those wins coming against a 4-win Raiders team and the other against a Ravens team that went one and done in the playoffs. The other 3 teams were all playoff teams and they went 0-3. Meanwhile Brees went 5-1 in his last 6 games.
