To me the food quality has been slowly eroding at Popeye's also... particularly in that over time they went from serving decent sized chicken to these Bantam chickens that they serve now. Or are they Cornish hens? I can't tell. I just know that I can eat a 10-peice dark by myself. I go to Church's mostly these days where I get some decent sized meat that is still delicious, and their biscuits are awesome. I love the taste of Popeye's chicken, I just find that I pay more for less there.
I went by the local Popeye's twice this week to see what all of the hub-bub was about, but they were out of Chicken Sandwiches both times. Will keep trying. My curiousity is out of control.
As for Chik-Fil-A' , I love their Chicken Sandwich with just pickles. I just don't have the patience to wait in those long lines. They're obviously doing something right.
